Changing Economics of Hybrid Vehicles: CR-V Premium Payoff Now More Feasible

A recent JATO study indicates that the payoff for the CR-V's hybrid premium has significantly decreased from 159,000 miles to a more manageable figure as gas prices have risen above $4.50.

According to a new study by JATO, the economics surrounding the CR-V's hybrid premium have shifted dramatically over a span of five months.

In January, the hybrid premium required an extensive 159,000 miles to break even, but rising gas prices, now exceeding $4.50, have altered this calculation.

The ongoing conflict in Iran appears to be contributing to sustained high fuel costs, further influencing the viability of hybrid vehicles.
